It was during my years since 2009 of promoting and running seminars around my first two books, that it came to my attention that children and parents are not being educated in the basics of domestic animal care resulting in perpetuated cruelty and abuse to dogs. Also by no fault of their own, we regularly witness in the media another tragic incident of a child being bitten by the family pet.
To this end, I have conceptualised a book for children and their families PREVENT THAT BITE ….
This new book teaches both parents and children how to meet and greet dogs with respect and care.
The right and wrong way to not only treat the family pet, but also to recognize when a dog is being maltreated by someone else.
Included is an animal body behaviour chart to understand what the dog is trying to tell us and a checklist for a parent to consider when leaving their child at a friend's house if there are dogs present.
